I was just reading my Facebook page, with everyone's status updates, and my cousin had a picture from the Magic Kingdom at Disney.  She said, "Seriously? This is what we saw at MK."  I didn't look too closely at the picture b/c one of the comments under it said, "odd and vulgar."

But here's the interesting part... anther comment said, "That's as good as the woman we saw walking and breastfeeding at the same time while at MK with my dad."

Can those two comments really go together?  A woman walking and breastfeeding is "as good" as something that can be called "odd and vulgar"? I find that disturbing.

And I wonder if the woman she saw walking and breastfeeding was me.

I did that at Magic Kingdom last month....and at Gatorland the week before, and at the park yesterday, and at the grocery store a few weeks ago.

I also breastfeed in public areas like the dentist office, the doctor's office, the oil change place, the bank, the airport (and on the plane!), and the children's room at the library.  I've breastfed through church (regularly!), through shows (Disney again), through both of my grandparents' memorial services, and once through the closing on our townhouse.  I will also sit right at the table in a restaurant and breastfeed.

If I've ever been there with a baby, I've probably breastfed there.

And, until I run out of babies, I have no intention of stopping.

I'm not very good at breastfeeding while walking, although I have done it. Other than that, I am right with you on everything you said!

Breastfeeding a baby is a normal and natural fact of life and it is sad that this has been forgotten by so many people.
